EP: 25.23 - Thinking Differently Regarding Money and Investing During Divorce with Eric Blake, CFP
Please join Elizabeth Rose, CDLP®, with the Divorce Lending Association, as she interviews Eric Blake, CFP.
I started my career as a financial advisor in 1999. Over the last 24 years, I have realized that my true passion is helping women plan for a successful retirement.
Although many of our clients are couples, our firm will always prioritize working with women for a very simple reason.
"I am the man that I am today because of the women in my life."
I was raised by a single mother who was divorced at a very young age, and my grandfather, who was my father figure, passed away when my grandmother was only 62 years old. I have seen women's challenges when facing retirement on their own.
My wife of 26 years, Dawn, has been by my side in good times and bad and literally in sickness and in health. Not only has she been more than I could have ever hoped for in a wife, but she is also an amazing mother to our two children.
And nothing makes me prouder than the amazing young woman that my daughter, Kaitlyn, has become.
These women are my "Why."
I’m a proud member of the following professional organizations:
CFP® Board
Financial Planning Association (FPA)
Ed Slott’s Elite IRA Advisor Group℠
Purse Strings Approved™ Professional
The Divorce Transition Professionals™
Volunteer Organizations:
Savvy Ladies
Blue Caboose for Cystic Fibrosis (Treasurer)
Senior Services Alliance of McKinney Chamber of Commerce
Carry The Load
On a personal note, I was born in Amarillo, Texas, but now live in McKinney, Texas. I graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a degree in accounting. However, my most prized accomplishment is 26 years of marriage to my amazing wife, Dawn, and our two beautiful children, Kaitlyn and Eric. When I am not diving headfirst into a client's retirement plan or tax strategies, you will find me working out, reading, listening to various podcasts, or traveling with Dawn.

At the Divorce Lending Association, our mission is to help divorcing homeowners make more informed decisions regarding their home equity solutions and the divorce team identify any potential conflicts between the divorce settlement, the mortgage, and real property.
Divorce Mortgage Planning is the ability to put into play the desired outcome by pairing the needs and options available while incorporating the necessary details and clarity into an executable settlement agreement to obtain closure and peace of mind successfully.
Are you going through a divorce and need information on refinancing your mortgage or buying anew home once the divorce is final? Often conflict arises out of a lack of knowledge. We have an amazing workshop available allowing you to take control of your situation and divorce mortgage planning so you are in a stronger position to negotiate while removing conflict and unrealistic expectations.
