A word from Rebecca: My accounting and financial background assists with analysis of an estate, resolution of financial disputes, and implementation of estate planning strategies. For estate planning, I provide an educational approach with Zoom sessions to help create customized documents. For family law, I offer limited scope consultations for the joint petition process with amicable divorces (self-representation assistance). For QDROs, the division of most retirement plans requires an extra step based on the federal law known as the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA). The plan administrator may require a court order with specific language to divide retirement assets. These court orders are known as Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDROs) or Eligible Domestic Relations Orders (EDROs).
